As you all know, I love the JC Higgins model 20 line, and swear by it often. But finally, with the hundreds of loads I have put through it at once, the solder that holds the poly-choke has weakened, along with a few other things, meaning I can not use it for trap anymore. Now I am on a mission (and budget) to find a shotgun i can use for trap. My price range is ~$250, and I don't mind a shotgun that is used, as long as it is structurally sound.
I like this one, but I understand that Marlin says not to fire them past a certain dram load (Anyone know what that happens to be?):

Most folks today seem to prefer the 3 inch chambers and the RemChoke tubes. But there are a few very good, slightly used 870 shotguns with the shorter chamber and fixed choke that would last you a lifetime.
