Hard Disk light keeps flashing , why ?
i had a new Pc assembled 2 weeks back with asus p5pe motherboard and samsung 80 GB 7200 rpm drive . there are two lights on the front panel one green for power which is on permanently and one red which becomes bright when the hard disk is used . in idling the red ( disk ) light keeps a regular flashing like aircraft tail lights . is this normal ? should it not be off or dimmed ?
if i put the machine in standby ( XP ) the red comes on and the green goes off . is this normal ? is every wire in the right place ?
its normal, that means it is working fine. When you boot you pc the hd light is on all the time, and that means it is uploading the system. its normal mate
