a good...insulation(?) for a repaired laptop charger cable tip?
the last time i repaired my charger's tip by soldering, i used non-conductive glue to cover the whole of the repaired wires since i had to take the insulation off it to fix it up. 2 years later which is today, i had to repair the charger again as one of the wires came loose by bending or something.
so, i've done repairing the wires but now i need some other tougher material than glue to cover it since i think the glue being bendable was the cause of the loose wires. anyone has any ideas for a good tough insulation or better yet a better way of fixing my cable...other than buying a replacement cable. i aint a rich man.
Epoxy resin (2 part glue)
Its incredibly tough and used commercially for insulating high voltage cable splices etc - you dont need any tape or anything else, just keep the soldered connections spaced apart and 'bury' the repair in the epoxy
Its also available in small packs in DIY shops etc and is very cheap if you avoid the branded versions
