What UK Anglers Should Take in Their Fishing Tackle Boxes—A List of Handy Tools
When you're gearing up for the start of fishing season, part of the fun is fitting out your fishing tackle box with all the essentials you might need. Though it’s unlikely that you’re forget line, bobbers, sinkers, hooks, and leaders, you may not remember everything—and leaving something important out could mean not enjoying your trip as much. Here's a list of some of the items that are necessities for any angler's tackle box.
Fishing Tackle Boxes -Needle Nose Pliers
These make a terrific addition to your fishing equipment. This tool makes it easy to remove hooks from fish. You should select pliers with an integrated cutter; this is useful for cutting off the hook’s end prior to taking it out. Needle nose pliers may also be used for crimping leaders and split shot on your line.
Knife
Pick a strong knife that can be used for many things. A stainless steel blade is essential, along with a fairly large blade. A blade that's partially serrated will give you maximum versatility. It must also be durable enough to either clean or prepare the fish. Two fine accessories to look for when choosing a knife include a hook {disgorger and a scaler~scaler and hook disgorger}.
File
A file will help keep hooks sharp and, with a bit of practice, keep your knife sharp. Choose a small triangular shaped file with a different abrasive surface on each side. A whetstone is another option, but these are best left to more advanced fisherman.
Toilet Roll
Let's be honest - when you need it, there's no substitute. An entire roll of paper isn’t required. Roll off a decent amount of paper and place it inside a plastic bag. Make sure to take plenty though, and you may want to add some paper towels or Kleenexes, too. If a fire is needed on the trip, these items all burn quite well.
Fishing Tackle Boxes -Fingernail Clipper
Clippers normally come with a nail file which is also useful for making hooks sharp. Also, the clipper itself is a good way to cut the line.
Lighter
It’s hard to know in advance if you’ll need to create a fire for some reason. Other uses include fixing damaged plastic worms and to stop a nylon rope from fraying.
First Aid Equipment
Choose a small first aid kit you can tuck into a pocket. Be sure it minimally contains bandages, a way to cleanse a wound and antibiotic ointment. Gauze pads and an Ace® bandage are excellent to include. Be certain to take aspirin or some other analgesic with you. Sunscreen is essential as well.
Insect Spray
Nothing can ruin a trip faster than being swarmed by bugs, so be sure to take the appropriate repellent with you.
Fishing Tackle Boxes -Travel-Size Food
Pack a few energy bars or granola bars. These make a nutritious lunch, along with a handful of nuts or raisins.
Once you're set with all this gear, you can concentrate on landing that trophy specimen!
Why do I keep on having gum problems?
Once a awhile, I keep having gum problems on my lower gum part, the gum part on the bottom where my second and third molar teeth are. It gets painful, red, and then it bleeds SUPER a lot! I usually poke it with a needle to make all the nasty dead blood come out or use a tooth scaler to get it out! I noticed that sometimes I get it from eating hard food that pressures on to my gum, and then sometimes, I get it out of no where. Why do I keep having this problem? Is it because I do not brush my teeth well enough? I get regular x-rays done, and I visit my dentist every two weeks to get a professional cleaning done.
I mean, I visit my dentist every 3 months!
wow..your dentist sees you 2 weekly and can't figure it out?? you need to change your dentist.
Gums bleed easily when they are irritated often the cause is palque and tartar which relates to how well and often you brush and floss and how ofte and well your dentist scales them. Other factors such as hormonal influences(pregnancy, mensturation), mouth breathing, vitamin deficiency(rare) also affects things.
